Main international 5X5 competition
EuroBasket, also known as European Basketball Championship, is the main international 5X5 basketball competition. The competition was first held in 1935. The former Soviet Union holds the record with 14 gold medals.
24 European teams take part during the EuroBasket. These 24 teams are placed into four groups of six and they all play each other in their group. The top four teams in each group, 16 teams in total, advance to the knockout stage. The knockout stage is a single-elimination tournament. With a bronze medal game for the semi-final losers, a silver medal game for the final losers and a gold medal game for the winners of the EuroBasket.

FIBA EuroBasket 2022 took place in four countries: Czech Republic, Georgia, Germany and Italy. The games were played in Berlin, Cologne, Milan, Prague and Tbilisi. The group phase started September 1st 2022 and the final was played at September 18 2022.

Spain defeated France 88-76 in the final to win the EuroBasket 2022. France came second and Germany took third place.
