The 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup has begun! From August 25 to September 10, this major basketball tournament will be held as a very special edition indeed, because the event will take place in three different countries at the same time! The Philippines, Japan and Indonesia are host countries for this edition! Aiming for the second round
The first round began on the starting day of this WC, Aug. 25, with the match between Angola and Italy. Italy walked away with the win with 81 points. A total of 32 countries are participating in this World Cup, and after today it will be clear which countries will be entitled to continue their way in the second round. Present in this second round, the round of 16, are already Australia, Dominican Republic, Italy, Canada, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, Spain and the United States.

Qualification for the Olympics
The FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 has brought together 32 teams in pursuit of the Naismith Trophy, but the stakes are even higher. Alongside the coveted trophy, this tournament holds the key to another prestigious event: the Olympic Games in Paris. A total of seven national teams will earn direct qualification for the Olympics through their performance here. Notably, host nation France will enjoy automatic qualification. These seven Olympic slots will be allocated as follows: two from the Americas, two from Europe, one from Africa, one from Asia, and one from Oceania.
